La idea misma de lo que es una vanguardia artística lleva en constante discusión desde hace prácticamente un siglo. ¿Son "vanguardia" estéticas y movimientos artísticos que llevan cien años desarrollándose? ¿Son "vanguardia", cuando son aceptados por el gran público? ¿Son vanguardia, cuando sus objetivos primigenios de investigación sobre forma y contenido se han convertido en esteticismo sin desafíos?

En pocos lugares, como decía en "Metal Extremo", podemos aún enfrentarnos a esa vertiginosa sensación de desafío intelectual, de comprensión estética y de ejercicio de  nuestros mecanismos mentales de entendimiento y de aceptación como con ciertas músicas rechazadas por el gran público. Qué afortudados fuimos, por ello, los que hace unos días pudimos asistir al concierto a cuatro manos, del japonés KK Null y el madrileño Scumearth.

The very idea of what is artistic vanguard has been debated since almost a century. Is it "vanguard", when aesthetics and artistic movements have been developing for a hundred years? Is it "vanguard" when they are easily accepted by mainstream audiences? Is it "vanguard" when its primal objectives of investigating form and content have become undefied aestheticisms?

In very few places, as I said in "Extreme Metal", we can still confront that vertiginous feeling of intellectual challenge, of aesthetic comprehension and of being exercising our mental mechanisms of understanding and acceptance as with certain kinds of music, all rejected by the mainstream. So fortunate we were those who attended a few days ago the duet performed by japanese artist KK Null and madrilenian artist Scumearth.
